COMPATIBILITY

In order to establish due compatibility, a dynamic1 effort is made towards
synastry2. The amateur astrologer calculates both charts by memory,
consequently directing them in order to determine the times of the events.
This calculus can be done while talking to the person in question, such as
in a first meeting chart. One needs no iPad or laptop, since all calculation

"Necromancer" is right. The cult of the dead - like me.
And I thought that it was only women who wanted everything for no effort
(with redeeming, hope-inducing exceptions, like Eleanor Roosevelt.)

My wife has a fridge magnet with a photo of a woman with the saddest, most
vacant expression imaginable, saying "You have to take what God gives you
and just put up with it," or something similar. It is so wrong, it isn't
worth looking up.

GROW is a 12-step group. One of the original 12 Steps of AA, and No. 3 in
GROW is: "We surrendered to the healing power of God." That is far from the
above morbid fatalism. The GROW Commentary deals with the question: "Why
doesn't God remove all evil?" More the kind of question that even
theologians can't answer.

GROW's answer is: Don't even ask it. It leads to the view of the above
fridge magnet. "It is all God's fault, so what can I do about it?" A Roman
poet called that attitude "Like the yokel, waiting for the river to flow
past so he can cross it." The only way to healthy growth is to take
responsibility for oneself, and to get on with living in this imperfect
world. Don't wait for the river to flow past: build bridges!

Look at the BBC experiment, where they took away all the women for a week.
With all the fridge-magnet followers gone, and unable to keep reciting "It's
impossible!!" the men's innate creativity came to the fore again, and they
started living creatively. They achieved more in a week alone than in years
of married life. My wife refuses to accept the evidence. She still believes
in waiting for the river. A woman reporter believed her eyes, and came to
see that she had been duped by fairy-tales.
